It finally happened. More than 200 pages in, someone finally did the moutza. It’s the gesture Alex is making in panel 4 and it’s a Greek staple: a shoving-forward motion with the hand palm outwards, fingers splayed wide, indicates that the one you direct it to has just said/done something monumentally stupid, or they just happen to BE monumentally stupid. If even that won’t cover the amount of stupid, you can do it with both hands.
The moutza is a rude gesture of course, and people take offense when that happens (a lot of occurences in road rage. It’s not hand waving guys…).
Here is a nice sample of Greeks in cinema doing the moutza on various occasions (and yes you can direct the moutza at your own self when you feel you’ve been a glorious idiot).
